MEA Membership Meeting November 3

We would like to invite you to a MEA Membership meeting on Friday, Nov. 3, from 4-6pm at Silver Creek. We will have the back enclosed room behind the patio area. We will serve light appetizers starting around 4pm and our agenda items will begin for discussion around 4:20. Cost will be $5 at the door and attendance prizes will be given out.

Please RSVP to Barb Elmore by Monday, Oct. 30  – IF YOU ARE ABLE TO ATTEND. 

If you cannot join us on Nov. 3, please check with your Building Reps starting Nov. 6 to obtain information you missed.

2017 MEA Scholarship Recipients

After receiving 32 amazing scholarship applications, MEA is pleased to have awarded four one-time scholarships in the amount of $300 each last night during the scholarship ceremony at the high school.  The scholarship committee had an agonizing decision to make, and the essay portion of the application was the driving factor in choosing the recipients.  The 2017 MEA Scholarship recipients (featured from left to right in the attached pic) are: Madison Smith, Gabrielle Petersen, Ellen Filkins, and Daustin Hoelscher.  Thanks to all of you who served on the scholarship committee this year.

Sick Leave Bank Forms

Please find attached the Sick Leave Bank form that must be filled out whether you wish to participate in the Sick Leave Bank or not.
  • Everyone should fill out a form.
  • All forms need to be turned in to me at MHS via school mail or in person – Melanie Kassing at MHS.  
  • All forms are due Friday, May 13, 2016.  If the sick bank form is not received by me by Friday, May 13 your status will be the same as this year.  Late sick bank forms will not be accepted!  Again, if your form is not received by the deadline your status remains the same as this school year. No exceptions!
If you work with any full-time employees who do not receive school e-mail, please print a copy of the form for them.
If you are returning, after having left the Sick Leave Bank, you will need to donate 3 days.  Please see the contract language on the Sick Leave Bank form or please refer to the contract found at http://mea19.org
We will not need to ask for days from existing Sick Leave Bank members for the upcoming school year. 
Please see an MEA Building Rep with questions – you do not need to be an MEA member to join the Sick Leave Bank.  Building Reps are listed on the MEA web-page – contact button.  http://mea19.org
